EMV Cards

New Card. Embedded Chip. Extra Security.

EMV stands for Europay, Mastercard and Visa.

Chip (EMV) technology - accepted globally to combat counterfeit fraud - is now becoming the industry standard here in the U.S. for card payments and at ATMs with its next level of protection. This technology features cards with embedded microprocessor chips that store and protect cardholder data.

Improved Fraud Protection

In the U.S.. counterfeit fraud has been growing quickly, which is why the industry is moving to chip. When used at a chip card reader, the new chip on your card makes it harder for criminals to steal transaction information that is used to create a counterfeit card.

EMV Chip Card

A chip-enabled card has a small microchip built into it that contains the same information that is stored in the magnetic stripe on the back of the card. A chip adds another layer of security to cards by requiring the chip to produce a single-use code to validate the chip transaction - further protecting your card from unauthorized use.

As a commitment to your security, we are in the process of implementing this feature to our Trinity Bank debit cards.
